Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Life can be overwhelming sometimes and we can often feel ill-equipped to deal with the experiences we are encountering. Individual therapy can help provide a safe space to discuss our struggles and learn new ways to explore and manage them. Below is a small list of some of the reasons that people attend individual counseling and some of the skills that you can gain from being in a space that allows you to be curious about your difficulties while feeling validated and safe.

Common things people come to therapy to address:

  • Learn to better understand your emotions and where they come from.

  • Learn and practice new, healthier coping skills and methods of coping with emotional distress.

  • Identify and change behaviors that are no longer serving you.

  • Improve communication and setting boundaries with important people in your life.

  • Identify and address route causes of stress and uncomfortable emotions.

  • Improve self-care, self-esteem and self-compassion.

  • Explore and work through trauma and unhealed wounds.
